FAQ

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is the latest innovative beauty procedure where a slim handheld tool with very fine needles is used to lightly outline hairstrokes into the skin to create an amazingly natural and authentic appearance to your brows. Unlike traditional tattoos, microblading is applied on the upper region of the skin causing it to dull more quickly than traditional tattooing techniques which makes it semi-permanent. Depending on a client's skin and skincare routine, one microblading session followed by their touch up can last up to 1-3 years. At Pretty Inks LLC. we provide a wide range of pigments to use with our tools to match with our client's hair tones as closely as possible.

WHAT IS THE MICROBLADING PROCESS LIKE?

At Pretty Inks LLC., we start by measuring the shape of your brows based on your facial structure. However, the eyebrows can be slightly modified based on your preference, eye width, eyebrow bone structure, etc. Once the shape is approved by you, we apply the strongest over-the-counter numbing solution and wait for the product to take effect. Once you are fully numbed, then we will start the application of the hairstrokes onto the brows. The entire process from start to finish, usually takes 2.5-3 hours. After 4-5 weeks from the intital session, once the eyebrows are fully healed, a touch up is recommended which will take roughly 2 hours to complete.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY EYEBROWS TO HEAL?

It will take 4-5 weeks for your eyebrows to fully heal and show its true shade. Immediately after your session, the outer areas of your eyebrow will be slightly red and the color pigment will appear darker than usual. The redness and dark pigment is expected and will subside as the healing process continues.

During the 1st and 2nd week, you will notice slight scabbing. Please do not pick at them as you will ruin the final result of your brows and damage the skin.

During the 3rd and 4th week, the pigment of your eyebrows will become lighter and the true color will begin to show. The 3rd and 4th week is when new skin will begin to develop allowing your eyebrows to appear smoother.

At the 5th week, your eyebrows will be fully healed and the final pigment of your eyebrows will be visible.

WHY IS THERE A TOUCH UP SESSION?

A touch up session is required as every client heals differently during the microblading process. Based on the client's skin, pigments may need to be adjusted, several more hairsrokes may need to be added, and certain areas of the eyebrows may need to be replenished. The first touch up session at Pretty Inks LLC. is recommended and it is when we are able to refine your eyebrows to assure it appears flawless and lasts for several years.

DOES MICROBLADING HURT?

Pain is subjective. We have had client's who have fell asleep during their session and some have felt little to no pain. Nevertheless, at Pretty Inks LLC., we use the highest over-the-counter numbing solution to ensure that the process is bearable. We apply numbing frequently during the entire session and will ensure you are doing well through each step of the process. After your procedure, slight redness and mild burning can occur but will sudside within a couple days.

DO I NEED TO SHAPE OR TWEEZE MY BROWS BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

No shaping or tweezing is required before your appointment. During your session, your technician will shape and tweeze the eyebrow area for you and ensure that it is to your liking.
